There’s an old proverb: "Be pitiful, for every man is fighting a hard battle." Today, it’s a meme: "Everybody going through something."
Most battles come down to uncertainty. Since we can’t control outcomes, the only thing we can do is make the best decision we can in the moment: with what we know, and how we feel right then.
Cold, hard facts matter. But the real driver of our choices (whether we admit it or not) is how we feel about them, and what we actually want. That part isn’t always obvious, especially when life piles on obligations and curveballs.

Our high-performance culture tells us to strip emotion out of decision-making. Be data-driven. Optimize. Even breathing apps gamify progress. But humans aren’t spreadsheets. Most of our choices are emotional, often without us realizing it.
I built Head Change because I needed a way to stop the spinning, see how I really felt, and get clear on what I actually wanted. Once I had that, I found I could handle whatever came next, even when it was worst case.
I’ve been in the startup game long enough to tie my self-worth to my net worth, to keep building even when I didn’t know why, and to crash out a few times along the way. So yeah, I’ve been going through some things too.
Here’s what I’ve noticed: people almost always end up doing what they really want or they find quiet ways not to. Silent resentment, procrastination, ignored thoughts … those are all signs the choice wasn’t really theirs. Research¹ backs it up: people feel calmer, even happier, when they feel like they make their own choices.
For me, Head Change is how I pause long enough to surface what I actually want, and what I’m ready to do next. The cards just make it cooler.
And if the app crashes … yeah, known issue. I chose not to fix that bug.
